KPFA Radio

mikO Tolliver is a dynamic media professional who served as the Interim Program Coordinator at KPFA Radio, where she played a pivotal role in modernizing the station’s digital presence and broadcast capabilities. During her tenure, mikO organized and streamlined KPFA’s podcasting infrastructure, making the station’s diverse programming more accessible to audiences beyond the airwaves.

As KPFA’s Social Media Representative, she expanded the station’s online reach and community engagement. One of her most impactful innovations was the creation of a simulcast system, enabling KPFA to broadcast simultaneously via traditional terrestrial radio and live video online — a major step forward in bridging classic radio with digital media.

mikO also founded KPFA’s internship program, designed to cultivate new talent and equip aspiring media professionals with hands-on experience. Under her leadership, the program produced a series of instructional videos on broadcast equipment operation and organized several successful live events, including KPFA’s milestone 75th anniversary celebration featuring Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman.

Additionally, mikO oversaw the development and launch of the KPFA Radio mobile app, available on both iOS and Android platforms, further expanding the station’s accessibility and ensuring its relevance in an increasingly mobile world.
